Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, August 20, 1998
Corinne Hill of the 3200 block of Knox St., died Aug. 18, 1998, in Sentara
Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Scotland Neck, N.C., she was the widow of George Hill, and a domestic
worker. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include three daughters, Catherine Clark of Portsmouth, Mary Frances
Griffin and Ernestine Brooms, both of Norfolk; three sisters, Annie Williams and
Vernetha Hart, both of Weldon, N.C., and Rebecca Hopkins of Crewe, Va.; two
brothers, Clarence Jones and Lee Jones, both of Weldon; 17 grandchildren; 45
great-grandchildren; 37 great-great-grandchildren; a special daughter, Elouise
Ruffin; son-in-law, Claude Brooms; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in New Union Chapel Church by the
Rev. Dr. Clifton Wilson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will
be ready for viewing at 3:30 p.m. today. The family will assemble at 1330 W.
41st St. at 11 a.m. Friday for the procession. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home,
Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
