The Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 9, 1954
Mrs. Gaddie Branch Sawyer Hill, 76, widow of George W. Hill, died at a Norfolk 
hospital yesterday at 9:20 a.m. after a long illness.
She is survived by a son, Frank F. Sawyer, of Warwick; two sisters, Miss Annie 
N. Branch and Miss Theresa P. Branch, both of Norfolk; a grandson, George F. 
Sawyer; a great grandson, Thomas F. Sawyer, and a nephew, Roy W. Payne, Sr., 
all of Norfolk.
Mrs. Hill was a native of Warwick County and had been a resident of Norfolk for 
60 years, residing at 408 Redgate Avenue. She was a member of the First 
Presbyterian Church and past noble grand of Virginia Rebekah Lodge No. 13.
Funeral services will be conducted at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 3 
o'clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
