The Rev. P. R. Cousins officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery. She was a native of South Norfolk, but had lived in New York for a number of years. Mrs. Hillard had been employed by the City of New York as a child welfare worker. She also formerly taught at the elementary school in South Hill. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hiram White and the widow of the late Joseph Hillard. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. C. C. Vaughan, Brooklyn; and Mrs. J. H. Billups, Montclair, NJ. Chatman’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
