Hines, died Tuesday in a hospital. Mr. Hines had retired in 1970 from a job with Texaco after 47 years. He was a member of Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church, the Howell Bible Class, Knights of Pythias Lodge 119, South Norfolk Masonic Lodge 339 and the Old Timers Club. He had served as secretary of the South Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include a brother, Jack G. Hines of Virginia Beach and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Gay and Oman Funeral Home, Francis A Gay Chapel, South Norfolk, by the Rev. Joseph Savinsky. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
