Virginian-Pilot  March 3, 1943
Edwin L. Hinnant, aged 41, husband of Mrs. Belle Richards Hinnant and son of 
Theodore A. and Mrs. Eliseph Barnes Hinant, died at a local hospital yesterday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Hinnant was a native of Wilson County, N. C., and a 
resident of Norfolk for the past 25 years, residing at 3241 Granby street at the 
time of his death. Besides his wife, Mrs. Belle Richards Hinnant, he is survived 
by two daughters, Misses Jeanette and Mary Belle Hinnant; his parents, Theodore A. 
and Mrs. Eliseph Barnes Hinnant, of Norfolk, and four brothers, Carl S. Hinnant, 
of Washington, D.C.; Glaucus G., Paul A. and Theodore A. Hinnant, Jr., all of 
Norfolk. The body was taken to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
avenue, pending arrangements.
