Norfolk Virginian December 25, 1879

HINTON - December the 23d, 1879, ETTIE GRANDY HINTON, in the thirteenth year of 
her age.
The funeral will take place from the house of her mother, Mrs. S.S. Hinton, 43 
York Street, at 11 o'clock FRIDAY MORNING.

FUNERAL OF AN INTERESTING CHILD - The funeral of an interesting child, a little 
daughter of Mrs. Susan S. HInton, took place from the Granby Street M.E. Church 
yesterday morning at 11 o'clock. She went up to Brandon, on James River, with 
her mother to spend the Christmas holidays and shortly after her arrival she 
sickened and died. There being no means of communication, the first intimation 
the  remainder of the family had of their sad bereavement was the arrival at 
home, Wednesday evening, of Mrs. Hinton with the remains of her much beloved 
child.
