The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark March 12, 1914
Mrs. Susan S. Hinton, widow of Colonel James W. Hinton, died at 4:30 o'clock 
yesterday afternoon at the residence of her son-in-law, Charles M. Graves, 401 
Raleigh avenue. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Hinton is survived by four 
daughters, Mrs. C.M. Graves, Mrs. Julian Russell, Mrs. Julian Powell, all of 
Norfolk, and Mrs. C.F. Pool of New Orleans.
The funeral will be held at the residence at 12 o'clock today. Services will be 
conducted by Rev. W.H. Atwill of Colonial Avenue Methodist church, assisted by 
Rev. J.T. Whitley of Larchmont Methodist church. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
