LIGHTFOOT - Ann E. Hipple, 83, died July 22, 2011 surrounded by her family. She 
was born in Norfolk June 25, 1928, the daughter of the late Dennis Andrew and Mary 
Elizabeth Enright. She graduated from Portsmouth Catholic High School. She was 
employed by the C & P Telephone Company for many years. Most of her life was spent 
as a loving wife and devoted mother.

She was a strong Catholic woman who served in many capacities at church and was a 
volunteer for hospice for 18 years.

Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas J. Hipple Jr. She is also 
survived by her eight children, Thomas J. Hipple III, Linda McDonough and husband 
Kevin, Sharon H. Dawson and husband Chris, Tammy H. Corsico-Piccolino and husband 
Alex, Mark J. Hipple, Michael J. Hipple and wife Kristen, Matthew J. Hipple and 
wife Rita and John J. Hipple and wife Sharlene. She is also survived by 35 
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was 
loved by so many.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Nelsen 
Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. Her Mass will be 
celebrated Monday, July 25 at 9 a.m. in St. Olaf Catholic Church, 104 Norge Lane, 
Norge, Va. Interment will be at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk.

Williamsburg, VA 23185 or James City/Bruton Volunteer Fire Department, 3135 Forge
