NORFOLK — Mrs. Elizabeth Mitchell Hitchings, 96, of 532 Washington Park, a 
native of Liverpool, England, who lived in Tidewater most of her life, died 
Saturday in a hospital. She was the widow of Edgar P. Hitchings.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and Virginia Chapter 22, Order of the 
Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Milton V. Hitchings and Edgar M. Hitchings of 
Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Jean Cuthrell of Lake Landing, N.C.; three 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery by Dr. Stuart R. 
Grizzard. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, has charge of 
arrangements.
