Hitt, 816 Gates Avenue, last night at 8:25 o’clock. Mr. Hitt was a native of Baltimore and had resided in Norfolk for the past 35 years. He was a member of Ghent Methodist Church, being past chairman of the board of stewards and active in church affairs for many years. He was also a member of Corinthian Lodge 266, A.F. & A.M., and organizer and a member of the firm of Hitt & Brown, electrical contractors, until two years ago. Mr. Hitt is survived by three sons, Walter M., Allen P., and Norman E. Hitt; a sister, Miss Fredericka Hitt, and seven grandchildren, all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at Ghent Methodist Church tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock to which the body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove.
