She was the widow of George F. Hobbs and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Redford. A Norfolk native, she was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church. Surviving are a son, James B. Addison of Cape Charles; a sister, Mrs. John T. Buchanan of Mercersburg, Pa.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Clayton E. Crigger of St. Francis Episcopal church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Additional Comments: Corrected last name of parents from Hobbs to Redford Mrs. Buchanan was not a biological sister. They were raised together after the death of Melvin's parents.
