NORFOLK - Samuel Hobowsky, 80, husband of Mrs. Annie Hobowsky and son of 
Mordecai and Mrs Sarahbelle Tavss Hobowsky, well-known merchant of Edenton, NC, 
died Sunday at 7 pm at his home, 103 W King St, Edenton, where he had been a 
resident for the past 48 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jacob Hobowsky of Edenton, and 
Isaac Hobowsky of Scotland Neck; two daughters, Miss Esther Hobowsky of Edenton 
and Mrs Edward Meyer of Enfield, NC; five grandchildren, and several nieces and 
nephews.
Services were conducted at the H D Oliver Funeral Apts yesterday at 4 pm by 
Rabbi Joseph Schecter of the United Orthodox Synagogue. Burial was in B'Nai 
Israel Cemetery. The pallbearers were M. Stoler, M Tavss, Louis B Fine, S 
Sultan, Max Myer and M Cohen.
