He was a native of Beacon, N.Y. and a resident of Chesapeake since 2003. He was the son of the late John and Anita Hockler. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force and spent four years as a member of our military in Japan and Germany. He retired after 30 years employment from the State of New York in their correction facility. He was an animal advocate, was active as a ham radio operator, and enjoyed photography. He is survived by many first and second cousins. The funeral Mass will be celebrated in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father Romeo Jazmin will officiate.
