Hodges, one of the best known and among the most prominent of the county ladies, died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock, at her residence on Jackson avenue, South Norfolk, after several months' illness. The deceased was 71 years of age and was the widow of the late John H. Hodges, one among the most prominent men of the county in his time. She was also a sister of the late Dr. G.N. Halstead, who died but a few months ago, and the late Mrs. W.B. Williams, and cousin of Mr. Fred H. Halstead of the county, and aunt of Mrs. Dr. N.G. Wilson, of South Norfolk. She leaves an adopted daughter, Miss Gertrude Hodges. Mrs. Hodges was of among the first families of the county and was very highly regarded. The funeral will take place Friday morning at 11 o'clock, at the residence and Rev. J.P. Barrett, D.D., of Memorial Christian Temple, Norfolk, will officiate. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
