Virginian-Pilot February 21, 1946
Samuel Henry Hodges, 62, son of the late Col. Harry and Mrs. Pattie Peters Hodges, 
died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning at the residence, 4 Wellington Apartments, 525 
Graydon Park. Mr. Hodges, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, was president of the 
Hall-Hodges Co., Inc. Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. Harry McIntyre, of 
Richmond, and Mrs. Holcombe Adams, of New York, N.Y., and a brother, Richard 
Hodges, also of New York.
Services will be held at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Friday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Taylor Willis, D.D., rector of Christ and 
St. Luke's Church, officiating. Interment will be private in Elmwood Cemetery.
