NORFOLK - Joan G. Hodges, 75, died Aug. 9, 2010 in a local hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late 
Antonio "Tony" and Esther Grillo.

She was predeceased by her son, Mark W. Hodges and her brother, John W. Newnam. 
She was a graduate of Maury High School and former member of St. Pius X Catholic 
Church.

Mrs. Hodges is survived by her sister, Diana Gilbert and husband Charles of 
Chesapeake; niece, Toni Haddix and husband Chase of Cary, N.C.; her aunt, Virginia 
Wise and husband James of South Carolina; and her special friend, Frances 
Facchini.

Memorial services will be held in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. 
on Friday at 2 p.m. The family will be available to meet with friends from 1 p.m. 
until service time.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
