Princess Anne Road, on Aug. 23, 2000. Born in Norfolk, he was educated in the Norfolk public schools and was a brick mason by trade. Mr. Hodges served in the U.S. Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Hodges; three sons, Billy, Ronald and Michael Hodges; his mother, Neolus Backers, and stepfather, Linwood Backers; a brother, Eugene Hodges, all of Norfolk; three grandchildren; three uncles, Junius Hodges, Howard Hodges and Reginald Hodges; three aunts, Vivian Hodges, Clementine Hodges and Madlyn Whitehurst; and a host of loving relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Guiding Light Apostolic Church of Christ, 115 Cavalier Blvd., Portsmouth, by Elder Aldie Spellman. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Family and friends will assemble at 1742 Canton Ave., Norfolk, one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
