A native of Norfolk, he was a son of Mrs. Susie Maben Hodges and the late Junius Hodges. He worked for Academy Van & Storage Co. and was an Army veteran of five years in the Army. Besides his mother, surviving are three brothers, Junius Hodges, Howard Hodges, and Reginald Hodges, and four sisters, Mrs. Vivian Hodges, Mrs. Neolus Backers, Mrs. Clementine Hodges, and Mrs. Madlyn Whitehurst, all of Norfolk. A funeral service was held August 2 in St. John AME Church by the Rev. A. R. Powell. Burial, with military honors, was in Calvary Cemetery. B. F. King Funeral Home was in charge.
