Clingman Hodges, died her late residence 974 Goochland Street,last Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o’clock p.m. from Shiloh Baptist Church, of which the deceased had long been a member, and were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Stokes, pastor. Mrs. Hodges was born in Norfolk, and before her marriage was Miss Julie Victoria Harris. She was active in church work and was also member of two fraternal societies, the Knights of Gideon and the G. U. Order of Tents, in both of which she was an active worker and prominent officially. She was a woman of fine Christian character. She is survived by her husband and five children: Mrs. Lucinda Williams of Washington, DC; Mrs. Ruth Elliott, Misses Mary and Lenora Hodges, and Attorney Vernal H. Hodges. Attorney Hodges, who is now a student in Gammon Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA, and all of the other members of the family were at the bedside when the end came.
