Hodges died at the residence of J.N. Webster, 288 York street, at 8 o'clock yesterday morning after four days illness of pneumonia. The deceased was in the 62d year of her age and was born in Mathews County, but had been a resident of Norfolk for twenty-five years where she was highly esteemed for her many excellent traits of character. The funeral will be held from the residence of Dr. Webster at noon Wednesday. ***************************************************** The funeral of Miss Mary C. Hodges was solemnized from the residence of Dr. J.N. Hodges, No. 288 York Street, at noon yesterday. The service was conducted by Rev. Geo. E. Booker, of Epworth Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. R.M. Chandler, presiding elder of the Portsmouth District M.E. Church, South. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery and the pallbearers were as follows: Dr. J.N. Webster, J.W. Pedin, H.S. Hudgins, Captain Charles Hudgins, J.F. Baird and K.B. Woodhouse.
