Samuel Thomas Hoffler, aged 60, son of the late Alfred Judson and Mrs. Zilpha Anne 
Butt Hoffler, died at 10:30 o’clock yesterday morning at a local hospital. Mr. 
Hoffler, a native of Portsmouth and a lifelong resident of this section, resided 
at 863 West Forty- third street.
Surviving him are four daughters, Mrs. Charles Bashara, Mrs. J. W. Wright, Mrs. F. 
M. Barrom and Miss Helen Hoffler; two sons, Thomas and William Hoffler, all of 
Norfolk; four grandchildren; a brother, W. F. Hoffler, of Portsmouth; two sisters, 
Mrs. Thomas E. Munds and Mrs. J. Horace Lane, also of Portsmouth, and a number of 
nieces and nephews. Remains will be taken from the residence to Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church for services Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in 
St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the residence Tuesday night 
at 8 o’clock.
