Father Hoffner came to Norfolk in June, 1944, and opened the work at Christ the King, becoming its first pastor. He is survived by three brothers, Louis H. Hoffner, Frank Hoffner and Paul Hoffner, and two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd O. Wilt and Mrs. Patrick Mahoney. The body was taken to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
