NORFOLK - Peter Johann Hofstede, 88, formerly of 3611 Lafayette Blvd., died 
Tuesday in a hospital.
He was a native of The Hague, Holland. He had attended Christ the King Catholic 
Church and had retired from the Mary Jane Bakery as a baker.
Survivors include his wife, Agatha Kamstra Hofstede; a son, Gerald Robert Hofstede 
of Yonkers, N.Y.; a sister, Marie Hofstede of Holland; five grandchildren; and 
five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church by the 
Rev. John T. Cummings. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with Smith 
& Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, in charge.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family 
will be at the home of Debra Edwards, 5213 Pleasant Hall Drive, Virginia Beach.
