Allen J. Hoge died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 at his home in Lee street. He was among the oldest citizens of Berkley and was well known as a ship master, having followed the sea for many years. The deceased was 62 years of age and is survived by his wife and four children, all of whom are grown. His funeral services will take place from his home at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The local Order of Improved Red Men, of which he was a prominent member, will attend the services in a body. ****************************************************************** The funeral of Capt. Allen J. Hoge, who died Friday, was conducted from the family residence, on Lee street, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Chesapeake Tribe, I.O.R.M., attended in a body and paid due respect to a deceased brother. The services were conducted by Rev. W. Asbury Christian, pastor of Memorial M.E. Church, and the interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
