Mrs. Malinda Cherry Hoggard, Norfolk resident for 49 years and a teacher in
Princess Anne county for 34, was buried Wednesday, July 22, following final
rites at New Central Baptist Church, Berkley, the Rev. W. B. Westbrook officiating.

A native of Bertie county, NC, Mrs. Hoggard was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Wright Cherry.  She was a graduate of Hampton Institute.

A faithful member of New Central Church, Mrs. Hoggard was a Sunday school
teacher, taught the Gleaners Bible Class, and worked with the Missionary
Society.  She was also a member of the order of the Eastern Star.
