The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark January 13, 1915 
Thomas J. Hoggard, a well known business man of Norfolk, died yesterday morning 
at his home, Bell View, Princess Anne county. He was 62 years old. He was a 
native of Princess Anne and was well known and highly regarded throughout the 
county. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal church and of Pocahontas 
Council, Royal Arcanum. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. T.J. 
Pierce and Miss Ethleen Hoggard of Princess Anne; Mrs. J.C. Council of 
Portsmouth; a brother, H.C. Hoggard of Norfolk, and two sisters, Misses Mary 
and Fannie Hoggard of Princess Anne. The funeral will take place at noon 
tomorrow from the residence. Rev. D.W. Howard, D.D., and Rev. E.P. Miner will 
conduct the services. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
