Norfolk Virginian Pilot  November 28, 1945 

Mrs. Margaret McNair Hoggard, aged 78 years, widow of Thurmer Hoggard and 
daughter of the late Henry and Mrs. Rebecca Herbert McNair, a native and 
lifelong resident of Norfolk, died yesterday at 10:30 a.m. at a local hospital. 
She is survived by one son, Thurmer Hoggard, Jr., of Norfolk, three sisters, 
Mrs. Laurie McNair Walker, of New York, Mrs. G.E. Smith, of Charlottesville, Va. 
and Mrs. W.F.R. Griffith , of Washington, D.C.
The body will be taken from the residence, 704 Westover Avenue, to St. Paul's 
Episcopal Church, of which Mrs. Hoggard was a member, for funeral services today 
at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. Moultrie Guerry, rector, officiating. Interment will 
be in Elmwood Cemetery.
