Norfolk Landmark September 12, 1888
HOGWOOD, Mrs. MARY E. - Beloved wife of John H. Hogwood, died at 6:14 p.m., 
Tuesday, September 11, 1888, at the residence of her husband, 147 James street, in 
the 37th year of her age, after an illness of six months, having borne her 
sufferings with Christian fortitude. The deceased was a native of Norfolk, Va. She 
leaves a husband and three children to mourn her loss.
The funeral will take place at 4:30 p.m. THURSDAY, September 13th. Friends and 
acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend without further notice.
