He was a veteran of World War I. He was the son of George W. and Mary Burgess Hogwood and a lifelong resident of Norfolk, living at 912-B Spottswood Ave. at the time of his death. He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Moore Hogwood; two sisters, Miss Effie Hogwood and Mrs. Mary Hogwood Stevens, all of Norfolk, and an aunt, Mrs. A. S. Gornto, Oceana. The body was taken to the Cox Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. by Dr. Edgar A. Potts, pastor of Epworth Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
