The Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 26, 1938
James Herbert Holland, aged 72, husband of Mrs. Sadie Galbraith Holland, died 
at the residence, 523 Delaware avenue, yesterday morning at 3:40 o'clock after 
a long illness.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.L. Whitlock and Mrs. 
Norway Morris, both of Norfolk; a brother, J.D. Holland; a granddaughter, Miss 
Shirley Anne Whitlock, and a number of nieces and nephews.  Mr. Holland was a 
native of Nansemond County, but had been a resident of Norfolk for 50 years.  
He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church, Wesleymen's Bible Class and 
Elizabeth Camp W.O.W.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home this 
afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
