The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday January 5, 1938
Mrs. Ella Dixie Holland, of 945 Park avenue, died at a local hospital 
yesterday morning at 8:37 o'clock after an illness of five days. Mrs. 
Holland was a native of Sunbury, N.C., and had been a resident of Norfolk 58 
years. She was the widow of Martin Holland and daughter of Daniel and Mrs. 
Eliza Eason Jones, and is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was a 
member of Park Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 
Westover avenue at Manteo street, Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The 
Rev. Fred A. Bobbitt, pastor of the Park Avenue Baptist Church, and the Rev. 
Luther W,. Strickler, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
