He had been superintendent of several lumber mills in Tidewater Virginia and North Carolina for many years before his retirement. He had been an inspector of lumber and at one time was connected with the Norfolk Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Corporation. A native of Rehobeth, Md., Mr. Holland had lived in this area for 78 years. He was the son of William Noah Holland and Mrs. Louisiana Disharoon Holland. He was a member of the Berkley Lodge No. 167, A.F. & A.M.; Ionic Royal Arch Chapter No. 46; and the Massasoit Tribe No. 77, of the Improved Order of Red Men. He was a member of the tribe for 50 years, and the lodge had scheduled a program in his honor next Sunday. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jannie Goldsborough Holland, of Baltimore; one half-brother, Ignatius G. Holland, two nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at the Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. ********************************** HOLLAND, FREDERICK H -- At the residence, 428 Clifton Street, Monday, March 28, 1949, at 4:20 a.m., FREDERICK H. HOLLAND, husband of Mrs. Jannie Goldsborough Holland and son of the late William Noah and Louisiana Dishroon Holland, aged 82 years. The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley Avenue, where funeral services will be conducted WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON at 3:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. B.L. Rhodes, pastor of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, and the Rev. B.T. Candler, pastor of Memorial Methodist Church. Pallbearers were A.L. Ambrose, Richmond L. Keonce, Henry Rawls, V.D. Divers, H.A. McDonnough, W.G. Brinkley, Dr. B.J. Thompson, J.J. Parkerson, George H. Burton and Moses A. Glasser. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
