Virginian Pilot June 24, 1905
William N. Holland, a well known and highly respected resident of this place, 
died at the Norfolk Protestant hospital yesterday morning at 10 o'clock after an 
illness of three weeks.
The deceased had been in bad health four years.  He was born in Maryland but had 
resided here about forty years and was 76 years of age.  He is survived by two 
sons, Messrs. F.H. Holland, formerly of this place, but now of Bowdens, N.C.; 
N.G. Holland and Mrs. W.J. Luke, of this place.

The funeral of the late William N. Holland, who died Friday at the Norfolk 
Protestant hospital, will be conducted from the residence of his son-in-law, 
Capt. W.J. Luke, on Liberty street at 5 o'clock this afternoon.  Rev. Herbert 
Scholz will officiate and the interment will be in Magnolia cemetery.

F.H. Holland, of Bowdens, N.C., is here, he having come to attend the funeral of 
his father, W.N. Holland.

The funeral of the late William N. Holland was conducted from the residence of 
his son-in-law, Captain W.J. Luke, Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock.  Rev. Herbert 
Scholz, pastor of Main Street Christian church, officiated.
The attendance was quite large and there were a number of beautiful wreaths and 
cut flowers.  The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.  The pallbearers were 
Messrs. Charles Gibbs, George T. Wrenn, John Whetstone, Louis O. Warner, George 
A. Simmons, W.A.B. Brown, Dr. G.A. Thompson and Captain J.W. McDonough.
