Norfolk Landmark August 12, 1899
The funeral of Police Office Edgar W. Holland took place at 4:30 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon from his late residence, No. 918 West Highland avenue, and was conducted 
by the Rev. S. C. Hatcher, of the Queen Street Methodist Church. The Police 
Department and Merrimac Tribe of Red Men, of which order he was a member, were 
represented at the obsequies, and the attendance of friends and acquaintances was 
very large. The interment was in Elmwood. The funeral display was a very handsome 
one.
