Mildred Jarvis Holland, 91, of Richmond, formerly of Newport News, died 
Wednesday, March 2, 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, 
Talmage B. Holland Jr. and her daughter, Talmage Lynne Brock. Surviving 
relatives include three daughters, Elizabeth Maxwell and her husband, James of 
Durham, N.C.; Nancy Miller and her husband, Burnett, Anne Burch and her husband, 
William, all of Richmond; 11 grandchildren, Jonathan Maxwell, Scott Maxwell, 
Tracey Davis, Amy Miller, Melissa Miller, Brent Miller, David Burch, Karen 
Burch, Laura Tonkin, Bret Brock and Holly Amaya; also 10 great-grandchildren. 
Mrs. Holland was a very active member of First United Methodist Church in 
Newport News for over 50 years. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. 
Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church with a reception to follow. Burial in 
Norfolk will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made 
to the Trinity Foundation/Dillard Forum of Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 
Forest Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23229.
