Holland, formerly of the 1300 block of Godfrey Ave., departed this life Saturday, May 5, 2001. She was a homemaker and member of Second Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Holland was predeceased by three sons, Melvin, Joseph and Larry Holland; and three grandchildren. Cherishing her memories are three daughters, Debra H. Cox, Gloria H. Green and husband, William, of Virginia Beach, Rose H. Roscoe and husband, Nathaniel, of Lanham, Md.; one son, Alphonso Lee Holland of Chesapeake; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Isom of Norfolk and Ruby Moore of Suffolk; and a host of devoted relatives and friends, including longtime friends, Rosa Mabins of Los Angeles, Calif., Naomi Small and Lula Jones of Norfolk. A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Second Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey V. Guns. The family will receive visitors at the home of Debra H. Cox, 6300 Babson Way, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Friday. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
