Virginian Pilot March 21, 1909

Mrs. Elizabeth Holland, wife of John Holland, died at her home on the Cottage 
Toll Bridge Road, at 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning after a lingering illness, 
in the 66th year of her age. The deceased was well known in this city and 
section, where she leaves a host of friends who esteemed her for her many 
endearing qualities of character. Besides her husband, she is survived by three 
sisters, Mrs. W.W. Bell, Mrs. J.T. Philpotts and Miss Sue Ashby, all of this 
vicinity.
The funeral will be held from her late residence Monday morning and will be 
conducted by Rev. John W. Carroll of Denby Methodist Church, Norfolk County. 
Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Norfolk.
