Virginian Pilot March 2, 1900

The venerable Captain Henry Holland, one of the oldest and most highly respected 
residents of this section, departed this life at his home, Bowden's Ferry, at 2 
o'clock yesterday morning, after an illness of nearly one month. The deceased 
was an octogenarian and the day previous to being taken ill he celebrated his 
89th anniversary with his friends at his home and spent a most delightful time 
with them and was thought to be in his usual good health. He leaves a widow and 
two daughters, who have the sympathies of the entire community in their sore 
bereavement. His funeral will take place form the Methodist Church Sunday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock.

28th, 1900, at 11:30 p.m., CAPT. HENRY HOLLAND, in the 89th year of his age,
The funeral will take place from his late residence SUNDAY, March 4th, at 2:30 
o'clock. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend. Please omit 
flowers.
