Holley, affectionately known as "Red," departed this life Feb. 4, 2007, at Beacon Shores Nursing Center in Virginia Beach. He was born to the late John and Louise Holley in Norfolk and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Following high school, Edward served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Holley Cooke (Garry); a sister, Dorothy H. Boyd ; a brother, Leon M. Holley (Pauline); a granddaughter, Joelle Jeffreys; three nephews, one niece and one great-niece and other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at Hale Funeral Home Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. John J. Dorgan. www.halefuneralhome.com.
