VIRGINIA BEACH - Frederick Andrew Hollis of the 1600 block of Wright Lane, an 
insurance agent, died Nov. 16, 1986.
Mr. Hollis, a Chelsea, Mass., native, worked for Pembroke Insurance Agency. He was 
a former security officer for DePaul Hospital, Norfolk; a former painter at Oceana 
Naval Air Station; and a former Virginia Beach police officer. He retired from the 
Navy. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a past grand knight of  
Father Habets Council 4632, Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Hollis; three daughters, Ann Taylor and Phyllis 
Cain, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Diana Berning of Virginia Beach; a brother, 
Chester Hollis of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church. 
Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A Christian wake 
service will be at held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, in the church. Memorial donations may 
be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Fund. Kellum 
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
