Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, September 6, 1993 
Deacon Richard A. Holloman Jr. was called from labor to Reward on Friday, Sept.
3, 1993, in a local hospital.

He was employed by the Norfolk Public Schools as a teacher for 26 years
(1967-1993) and the Norfolk Naval Station as a supply clerk for 17 years. He was
a member of New Calvary Baptist Church where he was chairman of the Deacon
Board. He was also a member of LAMBDA Omega Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi
Fraternity Inc. and was a Mason.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Barbara and his two sons, Rodney of
Jacksonville, N.C. and Ronald of Norfolk; four brothers, the Rev. Lawrence J.
Smith of Virginia Beach, Melvin L. Holloman of Norfolk and Clinton Holloman and
Eugene Johnny Holloman, both of Richmond; also a foster brother, Charlie Revelle
of Dover, Del.; three aunts, Carolyn Anderson of Philadelphia, Pa., Marian
Ferbee of Petersburg, Va. and Altina Coleman of Virginia Beach; one uncle, Frank
Holloman of Norfolk; and one granddaughter, Ashley Holloman of Jacksonville, N.C.

Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1993, at 2 p.m. at New Calvary
Baptist Church by the Rev. G.G. Campbell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
There will be a Wake service on Tuesday evening, Sept. 7, at New Calvary Baptist
Church from 7 to 8 p.m. The family will assemble at the residence. The body will
be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Graves Funeral Home is
handling arrangements.
