Holloman of 835 Goff street who died in a local hospital Sunday, Jan. 16, were held at the First Baptist Church Thursday, Jan. 20, with the Rev. R. H. Bowling officiating. A solo was offered by Mrs. Nancy Patterson of Queen Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Holloman was born in Cumberland County, VA, the daughter of the late Burley and Adeline Booker, but had been a resident of Norfolk for many years. She became a member of the First Baptist Church during the pastorate of the late Dr. R. H. Bowling Sr., and was an active worker in religious and social affairs. She was ill one week and her death came as a shock to her many friends, both white and colored. Mrs. Holloman is survived by her husband, John E. Holloman; a daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roland A. McKay of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie L. Woodson and Mrs. Pearl C. Brown of New Canton and Arvonia, VA; five brothers, J.N., the Rev. B. C. , T.W., and W.G. Brooks of New Canton, VA, and Arthur Brooks of Newark NJ, also a host of relatives and friends. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Home in charge.
