Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, April 24, 1993 
Sadie Holloway, 85, of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., a retired cook, died
Wednesday, April 21, 1993, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.

Mrs. Holloway was born in New Bern, N.C. She was retired from Norfolk & Western
Railway after 30 years of service. She was a member of Garden of Prayer (NU)3
Church of God in Christ, Norfolk, where she served with the Mothers Board and
the Sunday School Department.

Survivors include three granddaughters, Leonetta Jefferies of Portsmouth,
Barbara Edmonds of Virginia Beach and Debra Haynes of Norfolk; one grandson,
James E. Johnson Jr. of Florida; 11 great-grandchildren; three nieces, Dorothy
Overton of Virginia Beach, Beverly Anderson and Vivian Chadwick; one nephew,
James Morgan Jr.; one son-in-law, James E. Johnson Sr.; and a host of friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Garden of Prayer (NU)3 Church
of God in Christ by Elder Thomas Ruffin. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
Visitation will begin Sunday at 9 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at the
home of the granddaughter, Debra Haynes, 1701 Harmon St., Norfolk, at 10 a.m.
Monday for the funeral procession to the church. Twilight Funeral Home, Norfolk,
is handling arrangements.
