The Virginian Pilot Tuesday February 6, 1962
Raleigh Holmes of 1414 Shipp Ave. died Saturday morning in a Norfolk hospital 
after a long illness.
He was a native of Pughsville, a son of Braxton and Mrs. Emma Holmes.
He was a member of Waldorf Lodge and chairman of Usher Board 1 of First 
Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving is his widow, Mrs. Bettie Holmes.
The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held in First Calvary Church Thursday at 3 p.m., 
with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
