The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, July 3, 1975

NORFOLK - Mrs. Carrie Holmes of 1726 Princeton Ave., the widow of Emmett Holmes 
and a native of Savage, Md., died Wednesday in a hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Taylor of Gary, Ind., and Mrs. 
Male Russell of Norfolk; two sons, Emmett Holmes and Joseph Holmes of Norfolk; 
two sisters, Mrs. Ida Greem and Mrs. Etta Carney, and a brother, Frank Curry, 
all of Savage, Md.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Graves Funeral Chapel with 
burial in Calvary Cemetery.
