Norfolk Journal and Guide, Saturday, Feb. 2, 1935
The funeral of Thomas Holmes, 46, of 1236 Griffin St., who died at his home Jan.
19, was held at Hale’s Chapel Jan. 23 with the Rev. R. E. D. Garrett
officiating.  The deceased was born in North Carolina, but had lived here for
the past 18 years.  He was the husband of Mrs. Eliza Holmes, who besides a
sister and brother, survives him.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
