Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, July 17, 2002 
Joseph Virgil Holmes of the 6300 block of Glen Oak Drive died July 14, 2002. He
was a native of Norfolk County and member of Mount Olive Baptist Church,
Chesapeake.

Survivors include two sisters, Aneva Holmes Willie and Ruth Holmes Malbon, both
of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Aneva V. and Andrew D. Holmes; two
sisters; and four brothers.

A funeral will be held Thursday at noon in Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 3101
Lens Ave., Norfolk, by the Rev. Stephen A. Lewis. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery . The family will receive friends at 5332 Halter Lane, Norfolk.
Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
