The Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 29, 1934 

Mrs. Jane Eliza Holmes, aged 66, wife of Allen B. Holmes, died yesterday 
morning at 3:20 o’clock at the residence, 1158 Willoughby Bay Avenue, Ocean 
View, after an illness of two weeks.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Holmes is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J.D. 
Harrington; a son, Riddick B. Holmes, and a granddaughter, Tharon Virginia 
Holmes, all of Norfolk.
Mrs. Holmes was a native of Princess Anne County and had resided in Norfolk 
since she was a child. She was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home this 
afternoon at 4 o’clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
