Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 31, 1931

Miss Adelaide C. Holmes, aged 77 years, daughter of the late John and Sarah 
Ferris Holmes, died yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at a local hospital. She 
was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. Surviving her are two brothers, 
Alfred B. and William M. Holmes, of Norfolk; four nieces, Mrs. R.D. Sessoms, of 
Windsor, N.C.; Mrs. W. Henry Jordan, of Norfolk; Mrs. R.E. Moreland, of 
California and Mrs. F.H.B. Watts, of Norfolk and one nephew, George E. Holmes, 
of Norfolk. Remains will be taken from H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-612 
East Freemason Street to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services tomorrow 
morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

o'clock p.m., Adelaide C., daughter of the late John and Sarah Ferris Holmes, in 
the 78th year of her age.
Remains will be taken from H. D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, No. 610-612 East 
Freemason Street, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services Saturday morning 
at 10 o'clock.  Friends of the family are invited to attend.  Interment, St. 
Mary's Cemetery.
