Norfolk Virginian October 22, 1893

CHILD DROWNED - Little Ida, the 5-year-old daughter of Mr. John Holstein, 
was accidentally drowned in the Southern Branch at Money Point yesterday 
afternoon about 4:30 o'clock.  The child had been playing outdoors for some 
time and about half an hour elapsed before her absence was discovered.  It 
was at once suspected that the child had wandered toward the river and it 
was dragged with the result of bringing the little ones' body to the 
surface. Her parents are almost distracted.  The coroner will hold an 
inquest.

The funeral of Ida, the little daughter of Mr. John Holsten, who was drowned 
at Money Point, was held from her parents' home Sunday afternoon.  Interment 
was made in Magnolia Cemetery.
